Rossouw, Pierre Francois (Adv)
Advocate Pierre Rossouw SC is a senior member of the Johannesburg Bar. Rossouw was appointed Senior Counsel on 5 December 2006.
He has held appointments as acting Judge of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015.
Rossouw’s arbitration and litigation practice includes general commercial law with a particular interest in construction law, the law of contract, corporate law and insolvency law. From 2008 to date, Rossouw has held various appointments as arbitrator and adjudicator, primarily in disputes arising from the construction industry.
During 2022 I have finalised the following matters:
1 GCC arbitration, 1 commercial arbitration, 2 FIDIC adjudications, 1 NEC3 adjudication, 1 NEC3 arbitration, 1 commercial arbitration appeal

Dispute Resolution experience during the past ten years:
In Arbitration: As sole arbitrator, arbitral tribunal member, arbitral appeal tribunal member and party representative in numerous local and international construction related and commercial matters on a continuous basis between commercial entities, and between commercial entities and local and national government departments arising from contracts including JBCC, NEC, GCC, FIDIC and others on large projects including for example Medupi, Kusile, the Walvis Bay Coal Terminal, various housing projects and other similar disputes.
In Adjudication: As sole adjudicator, DAB member and party representative in numerous local and international construction related and commercial matters on a continuous basis between commercial entities, and between commercial entities and local and national government departments arising from contracts including JBCC, NEC, GCC, FIDIC and others on large projects including for example Medupi, Kusile, the Walvis Bay Coal Terminal, various housing projects and other similar disputes.
In Mediation/Amicable Settlement: Continuous involvement in the mediation of commercial disputes in legal professional matters involving advocates, attorneys and members of the public.
In Litigation: Acting as advocate for and advising parties in arbitral review applications to the High Court under the Arbitration Act, 1965.
As Tutor and Examiner: For the Association of Arbitrators’ Module 4 Fellowship Course, and as Full Faculty Member for all Modules of the Fellowship Course presented by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
